Since the adoption of Special
Inspections to the North Carolina State
building codes (IBC-Chapter 17), Special
Inspections has been implemented to
assist the Structural Engineers,
Architects and Owners in insuring that
the projects are being built not only to
the Project Documents but also to help
ensure that the construction of the
Project is being built to meet the
requirements of The North Carolina State
Building Codes.
Summit Consulting offers Special
Inspection services along with the many
other services provided. Mr. Gary S.
Michels, is the Senior Special Inspector
for this department; Gary is only one of
a handful of Special Inspectors in the
state of (NC) which has met the
requirements to be listed as an ICC
Special Inspector in four disciplines as
well as an AWS-CWI, ASNT Level II – UT
and MT.
